6 REASONS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD OWN A GUN

March 26, 2020 by gearpatriotad

Shooting and firearm ownership have long been thought of as a man’s sport and responsibility. However, this is far from the reality.

In reality, women have been using guns for as long as men have and probably need them for self defense even more than most men.

The good news is that perceptions are changing and more and more women are coming to understand the important advantages of gun ownership and proficiency.

Here are six great reasons why every women should own a gun ( and learn how to use it safely). So next time, your wife/sister/mom/daughter says that she doesn’t want to learn how to shoot a gun, send her this article and bring her to the range.

Contents

  • 1. Personal Safety
  • 2. Women have the potential to shoot better than men
  • 3. Going out with the girls… to the range
  • 4. Guns can be very fashionable
  • 5. More women than ever are buying guns
  • 6. Second Amendment rights are equally important for women

1. Personal Safety

While women have been called the weaker sex, there is no reason for them to remain vulnerable. Unfortunately, women do tend to be more susceptible to physical attacks, and a readily available firearm may be the difference between a repelled attack and a close encounter of the very bad kind.

Improving personal safety is something that should be on every woman’s mind. Taking a practical self defense course like Krav Maga and carrying a firearm are two great ways to increase your personal safety. (The Diva Defense Guide at shootingdivas.com is free guide for women shooters that puts emphasis on personal safety rather than specific shooting techniques.)

2. Women have the potential to shoot better than men

A woman has better fine motor skills, can multitask with ease, and takes in more information at once than a man. This means that with proper training, a woman is a more accurate shot. The musical “Annie Get Your Gun” should be an inspiration to women everywhere, as Annie Oakley wanted to teach as many women as possible to shoot. And shoot well.

3. Going out with the girls… to the range

An evening out on the town can be fun, but how many clubs do you really care to visit? Instead, unwind with your girlfriends and head over to your local shooting range. Stress relief has never been this much fun. Blasting through a target is a wonderful confidence-builder, and in case you’re single, having guns as a common interest may very well get the attention of eligible men.

4. Guns can be very fashionable

Guns tend to be associated with the Wild West, the military, and action movies; nothing too ladylike. Guns are strong, rugged, masculine… or are they? The women at girlsguidetoguns.com and BrilliantBackstraps.com would argue otherwise. There, you can learn how to “bling out” your gun, and enjoy the most practical, comfortable fashion for gun-toting females. Looking your best on and off the range is a woman’s prerogative.

5. More women than ever are buying guns

Being a trailblazer isn’t for everyone, so you’ll be glad to know the popularity of gun ownership among women has grown over the past ten years, and the trend isn’t slowing down. Shooting as a sport is welcoming of women no matter what level of experience. Don’t be left out!

6. Second Amendment rights are equally important for women

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”. This right applies to women just as much as it applies to men. So liberated women should exercise their rights to protect themselves and their families. This isn’t a special women’s liberation issue, it’s your right as an American.

Do you know any women who are resistant to learning how to shoot? Maybe yourself? Don’t be afraid of learning to shoot and trying something new. Get out there and give it your best shot!
